.. we got our shit together. We recorded an album, went on tour and here we are. Tho we liked the album, we felt it didn't represent us as we stand today. all the songs (minus 1984 and contract) were written 2 years ago. Since then we've done some group meditation and pilates (andy is an excellent instructor), and we're getting closer to the sound that best fits the squad. SO. As of Jan 1 2010 we are going into seclusion and not retuning to civilization untill we've recorded the entire zero cool catalog. Thats right kids 33 songs written over 2 years and recorded in 4 days. Talk - Action = Hippies will still be released. however, since all the line up changes over the years, it will be more of a greatest hits collections. Instead of 10 songs it will feature 20 songs and still come in under a half hour. along with this gem, we well record our second album, working title "ZERO COOL II". featuring 10 never before heard tunes! however due to the lack of patrons at our previous gigs, All these tunes are New to you! look for us in the new year!

New...

its been a while since anything was said or done. we're still rocking around, i got off my ass and made this slightly more interesting. gonna try and keep this at least half as up to date as the myspace Blog, or the new facebook page. we have some merch now, solid items, silly pins, touques, shirts whatever. and we'll be playing out first show sans KP since ever.. on FEB 20th supporting our friends ASS. we're out there can be picked up at Blackbyrd in edmonton. thats it the only place you can buy it. you can also harras the dudes at CJSR (fm 88.5) to play our music, that would be hilriously awesome.

Welcome Andy!

Well 3 days after The Great Paul left Zero Cool, I ran into a friend at school who i know was a guitarist. However, none of us were prepared for his drumming abilities. A wicked Drummer and an awesome Guitarist. Andy is really what this band is looking for. Enough brown nosing, time to get back to work. we're working on new songs and hopefully some gigs. We wish Paul the best, and hope he doesn't end up in a shitty movie line drum line. Fuck that movie sucked.

We Gots Plans....

So we got a couple of things in the works: We haven't officially released the "Pretty EP", but theres only 4 copies left.... this was recorded one afternoon when we were between drummers. 4 acoustic songs: We're Not Fugazi, Tolerance Lobotomy, Strangeland and Wanna Live in My Shed? Along with these songs you get the only studio recording, and i use the term studio very loosely, of Wanna Live in My Shed with Mike on drums.
So enough about that. We've decided to re-release the "Pretty EP" with Two extra songs, this time faster and with a drummer, no acoustic here. Along with this, we are also releasing the "Red Shovel Rocket EP" with 6 more songs.
Along with this there is a Bootleg of our show at the studio that happened 02/23/08. 14 songs and a couple of extra tracks.
Along with this we also have a new drummer. We'd like to welcome Paul into the band. Hi Paul. So after all that, we're gonna try and play a lot more shows so look for us. or don't.

So Christians like us???

having a drummer on hiatus is kinda like trying to put a saddle on a dead horse. so anyways last month or the month before, we played an Acoustic set at a Christian Battle of the bands, and the song "Tolerance Lobotomy" ( a song completely directed at Christans) was a surprise hit. I'm gonna post a few songs from our "Folk" ep "Pretty" its also available for download, just follow links from our website. www.zerocoolband.com , soon to come.... MORE SHIT!!!

More Demos EP

So instead of one mic in the middle of the room, we miced everything, and still shit.... i'm beginning to think its us... anyways the songs "The Log" (written about that infernal Channel 11, you know the one, the log one, anyways...) and "Your thick head" we're both introduced a couple minutes before recording and he recordings will prove that. The entire session was rehearsed, recorded and mixed in the span of 3 hours. yay? we'll see, if someone actually reads this, tell others and comment, on the songs all the lyrics are written out so read them. or don't, i don't really care. oh and we might be playing a show FEB 10 at the wunderbar, this is pending. hopefully chris gets back to me.

Cheers

Demos EP

OK i know it sounds like shit. This was recorded at third jam (which usually last around 30 minutes and we end up playing our entire set list 3 times). It was our first run through of the songs "democracy breeds apathy" and "servitude is born". One mic was placed in the middle of the room and it sounds better than a misfit bootleg. we hope to throw a real ep together sometime soon when we have a few more songs.
